Overview:

The role of the Specialized Support Worker is to assist individuals of all ages who face mental health challenges, complex needs, developmental disabilities, or behavioral difficulties. Under the guidance of our management team, these workers provide a variety of services tailored to the needs of each client. A key aspect of our approach is seamless communication, which helps families and care team members track progress and make necessary adjustments promptly. This ensures the successful implementation of strategies and programs, maximizing the client’s ability to achieve greater independence and success.

Key Responsibilities:

• Integrate individualized goals into the client's daily routine to ensure consistency and structure.

• Review all relevant documentation and objectives from the care team, offering input and suggestions when appropriate.

• Collaborate with all members of the care team to guarantee efficient service delivery.

• Maintain regular communication with the manager, seeking guidance when needed.

• Engage in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.

• Exhibit strong interpersonal and communication skills.

• Maintain a professional and respectful demeanor when interacting with clients and colleagues.

• Display excellent time management skills and adhere to punctuality.

• Treat all clients with the utmost dignity and respect.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Relevant post-secondary education and experience in the health or social services sector.

• Extensive knowledge and experience in developing and implementing behavior strategies and interventions.

Requirements:

• Up-to-date criminal reference check, including vulnerable sector screening.

• A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.

• Certification in Non-Violent Crisis Prevention and Intervention.

• Current CPR and First Aid certifications.
